Summary[edit | edit source]

Elvine are one of the six races in Jungalore. They are mostly defensive and slightly offensive as a race. Due to their racial skill, they can be extremely powerful early on. They are recommended for players who like elves in other fantasy games, or players who like an easy RP.

Elvine have long been isolationist, primarily living in Demeter. Secretly the elvine have integrated (or, rather, reintegrated) into human society.

In order to keep their cursed forms under wraps, the elvine utilize an item called a Yggdrasil Necklace, which is a necklace that has a seed from the tree of their home town.

Elvine, having been allowed to live only with their kind, have found that working together and accepting differences is key to a functional society. The village of Demeter is one of the most accepting places in Jungalore, welcoming those who come with goodwill, regardless of race, age, sexuality, or religion. However, they hold nature in high regard, and abuse of their village, their kind, their allies, or nature itself is looked down upon.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Elvine look like humans with some minor differences. The first main difference is that elvine have pointed ears. They angle in any number of directions, and come in various lengths. The second is that they are less likely to grow body and facial hair. The third difference is that they tend to be about six inches shorter than most humans. The fourth and final difference is mainly due to tradition, the elvine usually do not cut their hair. It is very common for an elvine to have long hair, even as a male.

History[edit | edit source]

The elvine are the youngest race on Jungalore. Their story starts during the reign of Zeden Altena. She was a tyrant who ruled by principles of evil. She sought not only world domination, but was said to possess the soul of Umbraria, the goddess of darkness.

During her reign, many had been imprisoned, tortured, and even killed, and the imprisoned were more often than not upstanding citizens and guards of the humans. One day, they planned a revolt against the queen, and they executed it a week later at night using a swiped cell key. They fought off the corrupt guards and used the weapons and armor they found to march their way out of the prison and up to the throne, where they fought the queen and won.

After a night of desecration and murder, in the queen's dying breath, she placed a curse on the remaining people in the castle, that they would become hideous creatures whose curse would drive them to madness. In that instant, the rebels were turned into gargoyles, hideous abominations that flew far from the reaches of Cyndar.

They settled under the branches of Yggdrasil, where the ancient goddess of earth, Demeter, took pity on them, and blessed them with the Yggdrasil Necklace and a warning. That while the Yggdrasil Necklace would protect them from their new form, the more it comes into use, the closer to madness they would become, and that given the current state of affairs, it would be very unwise to return to Cyndar.

Demeter was the only town protected from the cataclysm due to the respect and reverence of nature, as well as the fact that Demeter was never well known in Jungalore by any race besides the Elvine. Thus, the ones who launched the cataclysm were unaware that the place ever existed.
