Summary[edit | edit source]

Reptal are one of the six player races in Jungalore. They are characterized by their reptilian appearance and their affinity for dealing damage with a minor boost to defenses. Due to their shifting resistance and bargaining potential when selling or buying, they are great for players who want to do a lot of dungeon runs and can manage the shifting resistances.

The reptal are said to be the most untrustworthy of races. Most don't complete their full lifespan without being killed in a battle. However, besides the meridians, they are one of the oldest races on Jungalore, and their modern form predates the meridian modern form.

When creating a reptal, the player must choose between tree reptal, land reptal, or sea reptal.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Reptal are humanoid in shape. However, they have hard scales rather than skin and lizard heads. Reptal may have webbed hands and feet, depending on their type, but will have slightly larger claws if they're of the land or tree variety. Their heads will have a mix of horns, fins, and/or feathers rather than hair. Despite most of their bodies being scaled, they have a soft belly and may have a bony spine. Every reptal has a tail, some longer, some shorter. They grow to be anywhere from five feet to seven feet tall. Reptal females tend to be very curvaceous, and do have breasts, while men are quite muscular and may start growing whiskers.

Reptal children hatch from eggs, and have all their limbs upon hatching, unlike the meridians. A reptal reaches adulthood in their 50s.

History[edit | edit source]

Before the reptal were given a bad rep, they were the main inhabitants of the Corisca Mainland and Mindar Island. They worshiped the god of fire, Vulcan, who would transform the chosen and oldest of their kind into dragons. They continued to lead societies based on survival well until the humans arrived.

Upon the arrival of humans, they looked upon the reptal fire deity worship as an abomination, calling them cultists and demons. A reptal genocide soon followed, with the remainder living on the fringes of human society. It wasn't until the reign of Zeden Altena that reptal slavery would be abolished.

With the murder of Zeden, the reptal would be forced to flee to the fringes of society once again. Most took up banditry, and their race is almost entirely made up of bandits, thieves, and cutthroats. However, some reptal give up banditry for a better life, a life where, through dedicated work to bettering their communities, they would be allowed to become all assortments of classes and vocations.

When King Exanar outlawed all slavery, many reptal rejoiced, and to this day, even in post-cataclysm, they enjoy lived without having to answer to anyone. Yet even still, reptal banditry has left a wound on the identity of this ancient race. As a result, when the cataclysm struck, they left the mainland and sought to migrate to the Remnvald Archipelago, where they knew the dragon king Exodiin would look after their kind. Thus, ancient customs were brought back, and Tal-Ari was established at the site of Old Meridia.
