Alchemy System

From The Chronicles of Jungalore Wiki

The alchemy system was introduced after the intro of the new world, and allows the creation of custom potions and poisons. While regular items can be bought, custom potions and poisons can be made through mixing plants, vegetables, and fruits.

Minimum Requirements[edit | edit source]

Alchemy requires a few basic prerequisites.

  1. A Base Potion for every potion to be made.
  2. At least two ingredients, to a maximum of four.
  3. An alchemy table to work at.
  4. If making poisons, requires the alchemy skill Poison Creation.

When crafting the potion, simply go to an alchemy table, add the items you want to use to make the potion/poison, subtracting them from your character's inventory, name the mixture, and add the new item to your inventory with its listed effects. The effects of the potion/poison are based on ingredients.

Potion/Poison Effects[edit | edit source]

Heal/Damage Life/Will[edit | edit source]

Heal Life/Will and Damage Life/Will is a basic effect from most ingredients. The initial values are low, but can be increased at the end of the brew if you have the relevant job skills and/or ingredients.

Every one of the items that heal or damage either of these will have a positive number increase for healing or a negative number for damaging. Regardless of the potion or poison brewed, this is added to its effects.

When brewing, take the total sum of the healing/damaging of life and add them together, and do the same for the healing/damaging of will. This is the base amount. When you're done brewing, apply any multipliers.

Status Recovery/Application[edit | edit source]

Status recovery/application has a number of different rules to it. Ingredients may have a status recovery charge or status application charge to a max of +3. When brewing, a total charge of three is required to get the status recovery/application effect, with a few exceptions (see below).

"For example, a bleed recovery potion must have three charges of bleed recovery from the ingredients. Two or one will not do."

Further, depending on the charge, you can get different effects.

  • Paralysis 1/3 or 2/3: An incomplete paralysis charge will cure/apply stun instead.
  • Paralysis 6/3: A double paralysis charge will cure both stun and paralysis. As a poison, however, it has a 50% chance of applying stun as well.
  • Poison 6/3: A double poison charge on a potion will also cure the effects of Ability Down. A double poison apply charge on a poison will have a 50% chance of applying one of four effects of Ability Down.

Specific Items[edit | edit source]

If adding certain items and certain effects to the mix, you will create specific cures and items.

  • Three or Four of Any One Fruit/Vegetable: Creates juice of the fruit's/vegetable's name that has double or triple the healing effect, respectively, plus the effects of the status.
  • Three or Four Blueberries: Creates Blueberry Juice or Super Blueberry Juice. This item can be used as an ingredient to multiply healing effects by 8x or 16x, respectively.
  • Four Marijuana: Instantly creates a full ability up item.
  • 2x Silk + 3/3 Bleed Recovery: Instantly creates a bleed/amputation/weak recovery item.
  • Three Pieces of Silk: Instantly creates an amputation recovery item.
